Bracknell is a civil parish and town that is located in the borough of Bracknell Forest in Berkshire. It is around 11 miles away from Reading and 28 miles from the centre of London.
Due to its position it is a good place for people commuting to either Reading or London to live and as a result the population is over 50,000. It is believed that people have settled in this area since AD942 and the Old Manor public house dates back to the 17th century and features several priest holes.
Bracknell is also famous for being home to the Hind’s Head, a coaching house which it is thought that Dick Turpin, the world-renowned highway man, used to drink. Oscar Wilde is thought to have visited the area and it is believed that he named the character Lady Bracknell from The Importance of Being Earnest after Bracknell as he enjoyed his time there so much.
