About Eurostar:

Eurostar is a railway service that operates at high speed and connects London to Paris and Brussels. The terminal for the Eurostar in London is at St Pancras International and in France the trains stop in Lille-Europe and Calais-Frethun. While the majority of the trains that run will terminate here or at the station in Brussels there are also limited numbers of trains that will run from London and take passengers to Disneyland Paris.

The trains that run on this line can go as fast as 186 miles an hour which means that it takes around two hours to complete the journey in total.

The trains use the Channel Tunnel in order to pass from England into France and creating this tunnel was a major undertaking as it is the only real connection that is between Great Britain and the mainland in Europe. The tunnel was opened in 1994 by the Queen and many people turned up to witness this momentous day.
