About Gloucester Road Tube Station:

Gloucester Road Tube Station is part of the complex London Underground and it is located in Kensington in west London. The station is served by the Piccadilly, District and Circle lines and it is in Travelcard Zone 1.

The station itself was first opened in 1868 and it was owned by the Metropolitan Railway. At this time the station had four platforms however this has now been extended and there are a total of five platforms which cope with the 14 million passengers that go through the doors of the station each year. There is also a disused platform that will often be used to display artwork from local artists.

As the station is so busy there are several tubes that go through it each hour and the busiest times are during the morning and evening commute. There are also bus stops outside the station and these have several bus routes which serve the local area including a night to route.
