The London Eye stands on the banks of the River Thames in London. Since it was built it has gone through several different name changes an ounce from 20 January 2011 its name is now the EDF Energy London Eye.
The London Eye is a huge Ferris wheel that is 135 m tall making it the tallest wheel of its type in Europe. The London Eye attracts over 3 1/2 million people each year and it consists of 32 air-conditioned capsules which can hold around 25 people and allow them to move around inside comfortably.
Each rotation of the London Eye takes around 30 minutes as it moves at a speed of around 10 inches per second.
