It can be tricky to park in Nottingham city centre due to the Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ). This means that every street has some kind of parking restriction at some point in time. Parking is free in Nottingham between 8pm – 8am outside of restricted hours. Nottingham street parking tariffs are divided into Zones 1,2,3. Zone 3 has cheapest parking, with 25p per half hour Monday – Saturday, and Zone 1 is £1 per half hour.
Parking restrictions to keep an eye out for include:
Centrally located Pay and Display bays. These bays charge a minimum of £1 for street parking and this applies in all zones. There is no maximum stay limit.
Double yellow lines, where you can't park
Single yellow lines, where you can only park at some times, unless you are a blue badge holder. Be sure to check the signs when parking.
Where there are chevrons on the kerb this means that no loading/unloading activity is allowed to take place.
You can only use a Nottingham parking permit to park in permit bays and shared permit and pay & display bays within your parking zone. Even with a resident permit, you cannot park in pay & display bays (within their hours of operation), loading bays, disabled bays, doctor bays, on single or double yellow lines or in suspended parking bays.
No one wants a Nottingham parking ticket! On the YourParkingSpace map, we make sure that we only offer parking spaces with no restrictions so you need no permit and can rest assured you won’t get any fines.
