Potters Bar is a town that is in Hertfordshire and around 18 miles away from the centre of London. It has a population of around 22,008 has been in have a kid in the early 13th century.
At this time there was a small settlement in the area and this remained pretty much the same size until 1850 when the Great Northern Railway arrived and built a station. Due to its proximity to London it is classed as being part of the London commuter belt and there are a lot of local residents that work in the centre of the capital.
There are many different churches in the area and some of these are of historical importance as many date back several hundred years. Potters Bar is also well-known for being used as a filming location for scenes from the third Series of Little Britain which stars David Walliams and Matt Lucas.
