Rochdale Information

Situated in Greater Manchester, Rochdale was first recorded in the Domesday Book in 1086. From there Rochdale grew steadily until the 18th century when it became one of the country’s centres for the wool trade. Today Rochdale is a thriving city that has a mixture of shops and residential buildings.

Rochdale’s train system is on the Oldham Line and has trains that run to many of the surrounding areas. It is also eventually to be part of the Manchester Metrolink tram system by 2012. There are also several bus routes to and from the area.
