Romford is one of the largest of the suburban towns that is located in London and it is around 14 miles away from the centre of the capital, though it is ideal to commute from. It is one of the 35 cities that were identified in the London plan and it was traditionally a market town in Essex.
The area is well known for its retail, commercial, leisure and entertainment areas and it has a thriving night-time economy that includes many restaurants, bars and nightclubs that are always filled with patrons.
It is not that Romford had developed from the middle ages and its market was established back in 1247. From here on the area grew steadily thanks to its close proximity to the centre of London. The railway station in Romford opened in 1839 and the helped the fortunes of the Star Brewery that was one of the main employers in the area.
