Stadium of Light Information

The Stadium of Light is the home ground for Sunderland Football Club. Sunderland used to play at Roker Park. The new stadium was opened in 1997 with a capacity of 42,000, but this has since been expanded to 49,000. It could potentially be expanded to hold 64,000 spectators.

Sunderland Station is located very close to the stadium and is usually the choice for away supporters as it’s connected to London King’s Cross. Two other stations - St Peter's and Stadium of Light Metro – were built specifically to serve the stadium.

The price to park near the Stadium of Light can vary by quite a lot, but you can sometimes find private spaces for as little as £5 a day.

 

Just to say thanks for what seems to be a fabulous idea, only put our spaces on a week ago and two have already gone, thankyou very much, look forward to the rest going before long, a great service, keep up the good work!
