Streatham is in the London Borough of Lambeth and it is around 5 miles away from the centre of London. This area is one of Greater London’s 35 major centres and this has been identified in the London Plan. At one point there was Roman occupation in the area and the name Streatham actually means “the hamlet on the street” and relates to a road that ran from Londinium to Portslade.
After the Streatham Hill railway station was built in 1856 development in the area accelerated considerably and more homes were built in the local area.
This has led to their being a mixture of different architectural styles within the area that dates back over the last 200 years. Today in Streatham there is a real mix of different houses with cheap properties being close to properties that cost more than half £1 million. The area is also popular with people commuting to London.
Great site. Let our space within two days of placing advert. Very helpful downloads on rental agreement.
