Durham Tees Valley Airport is an airport that runs international services and is located around 5 miles away from Darlington and 24 miles away from Durham.

Although it is one of the smallest airports in the UK it does offer flights to areas around the country as well as to destinations around Europe. It was once known as Teesside International airport and this name has remained for many people when they are talking about the airport.

2006 was the year when the greatest number of people passed through the doors as the figures had hit 917,063 in this year, however this figure declined and by 2010 224,273 passengers had used the airport. In order to reach the airport passengers can travel by bus, by car or by using the airports railway station. However this railway station has poor links and only has two trains running per week which is not convenient for passengers.
