Vauxhall Information

Vauxhall is an area of inner-city London that is in the London borough of Lambeth. Many people know the area because they pass through Vauxhall Station each day on the commute to work. The area is known for the Vauxhall motor car manufacturer which first came from this area.

From 1998 onwards and Vauxhall have been part of North Lambeth town centre for administrative government purposes. Unlike many other areas Vauxhall is not mentioned in the Domesday book of 1086.

 



However by 1860 Vauxhall had grown into a village which was then taken over by the town of Lambeth. 

Today much of Vauxhall is taken over by government buildings and other offices and there are many commercial businesses relocating to the area.
