Vicarage Road is the home stadium for Watford Football Club and Saracens Rugby union team also play there. It has been Watford’s ground since 1922 when they first moved there.
In 2003 the stadium was temporarily sold, but thanks to donations from Elton John and fans of the football club the Let’s Buy Back The Vic campaign was successful. The stadium was repurchased in 2005 to £7.6 million.
Vicarage Road has a capacity of 23,500 and all of these places are seated. The Main Stand was the oldest stand in the stadium and was 88 years old when it was finally dismantled in 2010.
