It can sometimes be challenging to park in Blackpool centre as many of the on-street parking bays are classed as 'multi-purpose' which means that the usage and restrictions on these changes at different times throughout the day. Public Transport
Car
Blackpool can be reached via M55 from Blackburn and Preston, whilst the M6 connects Blackpool with the rest of the north. From Manchester take the M60.
Train
Blackpool North is the main train station in Blackpool and is managed by Northern Rail. Regular routes in and out of Blackpool include Journeys to York, Preston, Liverpool and Manchester Victoria.

Disabled Parking
A Blue Badge entitles the holder to concessions for on-street parking, including free use of parking meters and pay and display bays, and exemption from limits on parking times, although time restrictions do still apply.
Badge holders are advised to check individual car park tariff or notice boards for Blue Badge concession details. If none is available, you need to purchase a pay and display ticket to cover the length of your stay. Take care to clearly display the Blue Badge in your vehicle, showing the expiry date (not the photograph), with the clock set to display the time of your arrival.
A valid pay and display ticket should be displayed if you are parking for longer than 3 hours.
Blackpool Council also recognises Blue Badge use within some council-run car parks and allow a 3-hour free concession in these stated locations.
A Blue Badge must not be used to park in any of the following places:
- Where a loading ban is in force (shown by yellow kerb dashes)
- Where there are double white lines in the centre of the road (even if one of the lines is a broken line)
- In a bus lane during its hours of operation
- In a cycle lane
- On a pedestrian crossing area
- On a footway or pavement
- Next to a dropped footway or on a raised carriageway where pedestrians or vehicles need access to the road
- In a bay marked for other types of vehicles, such as an ambulance, taxi or loading bay
- In a loading bay, in a residents bay, in a business bay
- In a permit holders only bay
- Personalised disabled bays
- On school “keep clear” markings
- On a bay or area where parking has been suspended e.g. with yellow signs
