The Eaglescliffe Golf Club sits amongst the River Tees and the Cleveland Hills, and the James Braid course spreads over 6,289 yards. The course is open to visitors, but you must be smartly dressed during your visit and keep your phone on silent while in the clubhouse. There are several packages for visitors, with 18 holes for £30 (£26 on Mondays and £35 on Sundays), and 28 holes for £40 (£36 on Mondays, and not available on Sundays). There are also catering options, with a one-course meal for £9, a two-course meal for £13, and a three-course meal for £16.
The Preston Park Museum has displays about the Georgian and Victorian era, historic weapons, and the history of the area and the people living here. The museum also hosts regular exhibitions and talks, and the grounds are host to a wide range of events throughout the year. Outside, there is a walled, a winter, and a woodland walk. The street around the museum has been restored to resemble a Victorian street, so you can check out what life was like for the average person back then. See a sweet shop, police station, blacksmith, grocer, printer, draper, chemist, and photographer.
