Gateshead College is a further education establishment, for 16 to 18 year olds, that resides in the town of Gateshead, in the North East. It first opened in 1955 and was opened by the Duke of Edinburgh. Today, it sits in its new £9 million site on the Baltic Quayside. Creative industries and has connections with the Chamber of Commerce and The Sage Gateshead and Low Carbon and renewable energy training and has a partnership with Nissan.
The College also created Zero Carbon Futures in 2011, to provide a variety of community and nationwide courses, intended to develop the region as one of Europe’s leaders in the manufacture of low carbon vehicles.
