Gorgie City Farm or as it is now known as LOVE Gorgie Farm after it was taken over, resides in Scotland’s capital city Edinburgh, right in the middle of the neighbours of Gorgie and Dalry. The urban farm is a tiny slice of a countryside full of many loved animals and is a favourite of families with young children. It is run by the Educational and Social Care Charity Love Learning, which helps vulnerable children, young people and adults, by using advanced ways to connect them.
Gorgie City Farm was first formed by a community group in the late 1970s and officially opened publicly as a working farm in 1982. Whereby it sold lambs and pigs and was also the residence of other farm animals like cows, goats, sheep and chickens. There was also a small little children’s play area, in order to promote creativity and ingenuity from a young age. Entry had always continued to be free, though strongly dependent on donations and help from the City of Edinburgh Council with grants.
It has its own café offering breakfast delights, hot and cold drinks and sandwiches and cakes. Offers programmes for schools and a veterans and mental health group and runs workshops for the wider community. In 2016 Queen Elizabeth visited the farm, where she met volunteers, staff and other former associates and toured the animal facilities and gardens.

The parking was brilliant. Convenient for town and a reasonable space although two large cars would make it tight getting in and out of the car. Overall we are really pleased with the car park.Malcolm
