If you’re a student or staff, you can park on campus, or you can use the park and ride service just off junction 2 of the A1(M). You don’t need an e-permit for this, but you’ll have to buy a ticket for the shuttle bus, which costs £1 per day per vehicle.
For students, if you want to park on campus, you can park without an e-permit in the multi-storey car park beside the Forum. The first 30 minutes of parking here will be free, then up to 5 hours of parking will cost £3, and anything over 5 hours of parking will cost £5. If you have an e-permit you can park in green or orange parking zones for a daily cost of £3. You don’t need a permit to park on bank holidays, or when the university is closed, or outside of charging hours. As long as you register your motorcycle with the university, you can park for free on campus.
Staff will need an e-permit to park on campus. You can choose to pay the daily cost of £3, or pay for an annual permit via deductions from your salary or an upfront online payment. Staff can park in the blue, green, and orange parking zones.
