On 17 October 1814, Tottenham Court Road was home to the largest beer flood in recorded history. Following the rupture of a multiple vats, containing over one million litres of beer flowed down the streets, destroying everything in their wake. Today, the breweries have moved out, but it is still home to a vibrant selection of bars, restaurants and theatres, making it an incredibly popular area for Londoners and tourists alike.
In the immediate vicinity, there is access to three Underground Stations: Tottenham Court Road, Goodge Street and Warren Street, providing access to the Central, Northern and Victoria lines. It is also a short walk to Euston Station, making it a great base to explore London from.
