Birmingham Repertory Theatre, frequently known as Birmingham Rep or just The Rep, is a rich in history producing theatre centred on Centenary Square found in Birmingham in the Midlands. Now, the Rep theatre continues to produce a broad range of drama within its three auditoriums: The House and the main auditorium has 825 seats, The Studio has 330 seats and The Door is the smallest with 140 seats. Many of which go on tour both nationally and internationally.
During the first decade of The Rep, 36 plays were handed their world premier at the theatre and 8 more being granted their British premiers, these included key works by European writers like Tolstoy and Chekhov.
The Rep theatre which is positioned in the soul of Birmingham city centre, in Centenary Square beside the International Convention Centre was first opened by Princess Margaret in 1971. The premier production in the new home of the Rep theatre was First impressions, an adaption of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.

Parking at Rep theatre
Rep theatre does not have it’s own car park, however, there are car parks situated a short walk away that the theatre suggests you use. Both car parks are accessible for blue badge holders and both have designated floors for blue badge holder parking only. However, parking is not free for blue badge holders and payment is required.
Q-park Brindley place (B1 2JF) has 890 standard spaces and 8 disabled bays with 4 electric charging car points. It is a short 7 minute from the Rep theatre. This is a pay on foot car park on return to your car.
It is open Monday to Sunday 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

- Up to 2 hours - £4.60
- Up to 3 hours - £6.90
- Up to 4 hours - £9.20
- Up to 5 hours - £11.50
- Up to 7 hours - £12.50
- Up to 8 hours - £13.50
- Up to 10 hours £ 14.50
- Up to 12 hours - £16.50
- Up to 24 hours - £19.50
It is possible to park for longer than 24 hours, the charge will then repeat itself.

Q-Park Mailbox (B1 1RD) has 686 standard spaces and 16 disabled bays. It is a 9 minute walk from the Rep theatre. This car park is a pay on foot before you return to your car.
It is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
Standard rates are below:
- From 12.00am to 9.00am - £1.80 per hour
- From 9.00am to 11.00am - £2.20 per hour
- From 11.00am to 3.00pm - £2.50 per hour
- From 3.00pm to 12.00am - £2.30 per hour
The maximum charge for any 24 hour period is £21.00.
Parking over 24 hours is attainable and charges will repeat after 24 hours occur.

Public Transport
By Train:
The Rep theatre is a four minute walk from Birmingham New Street train station (B2 4QA). New Street is a huge station with links to all major regions within the UK, including direct and frequent services to London Euston.
Snow Hill station (B3 2BJ) has direct trains into London Marylebone and across the west midlands and west of England. It is a 12 minute walk away from the Rep theatre.
By Bus:
The Rep theatre lies centrally in Birmingham, making it reachable by bus from most areas across the region.
The buses: 9, 10, 12, X8 and X10 all stop a three minute walk from the Rep theatre.

By Car:
Rep theatre is found on Broad Street in the centre of the city. The A4540 circles Birmingham and is met by many key A roads like the A38. The nearest major motorways are the M5 which runs all the way to the South West of England. The M6 which runs up to the North of England and the M40 which runs directly into London.

On Foot:
The Rep theatre is a four and 12 minute walk from Birmingham New Street and Snow Hill station.
There are buses which stop a three minute walk away from the Rep theatre.
By Plane:
Birmingham International is the nearest airport and has flights across the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.
The airport shuttle runs to Birmingham international train station where you can board a train to Birmingham New Street which is only a four minute walk to the Rep theatre.
By Tram:
West Midlands Metro connects Birmingham with Wolverhampton and has plenty of stops throughout both big cities. The closest current stop to the Rec is the Library on Centenary Square and is a short walk away.

Disabled Parking at Rep theatre
On Cambridge Street, located behind the Rep theatre, are four disabled bays for those attending the theatre who hold a blue disabled badge.
There is also blue badge disabled parking at both Q-Park Brindley Place and Q-Park Mailbox, a 7 minute and 9 minute walk respectively. It must be noted that both car parks are not free for blue badge holders and a payment should be taken on departure from the car park.

Overnight, Weekends & Bank Holidays
Both Q-Park Brindley Place and Mailbox are open on the weekends where normal charges apply. Bank holidays are charged at the normal daily rate.
Overnight parking at Brindley place is available and 24 hours is charged at £18.50.
Overnight parking at Mailbox is available and from Midnight to 9.00am the charge is £1.80 per hour.
