It was fine, perfect for our needs. It's not the sort of area you might want to walk around alone at night and I wouldn't risk leaving any valuables on show in your car. But for cheap convenient parking for events at the O2 Institute, we found it was the best option. No complaints. The hotel reception staff were pleasant and helpful too.

Great location to the town centre however this is in the low emissions zone so you’ll need to pay for that

WARNING - THIS IS NOT A SAFE CAR PARK !!!!. Intimidating run down area even in the day, Arrived Sunday afternoon approx. 4pm. to find banging loud music (if you read the hotel reviews this is nightly till 5am) on a Sunday afternoon. This is a car park at the back of a hotel that has clearly seen better days " A few other cars arrived at the same time seemingly full of would be party goers with their pimped up cars and rave going occupants (this is 4pm !). We were already a bit dubious about leaving our 2 year old car that has previously been the victim of catalytic converter theft a few months ago. However decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. Located only a short walk up to the city centre. Returned the next day to find that the streets around covered in broken glass. The car park also strewn in broken glass, empty & broken bottles beer cans, litter everywhere and other "used" items, Clearly the party had spilled out onto the parking area at some point. No sign of the car park having being locked over night, and no sign that any of the rather ancient looking CCTV cameras were working (they were not even covering the parking area). We were relieved to find our car was undamaged but the car parked in front of ours had the back window completely smashed in - seemingly to break into the boot, We had booked 2 night but decided that as we valued our sleep and our car that we would not return ! It is cheap for a reason and it is not worth even the few quid we paid - I would have been happier to have left it abandoned on any street in Birmingham than to have left it here again. I was so concerned that I have contacted Your Parking Space directly to ask them to remove it from their website. You have been warned - pay a few more quid and save yourself the worry of coming back to a damaged or stolen car. Its really that grim believe me !!1

Alot the road closures on the day of arrival so very hard to get to. In terms of security there was a camera facing the entrance. No problems in terms of the parking space just the road closures that stopped this from being 5 stars
