The West Usk Lighthouse was built in 1821 by Scottish civil engineer James Walker. It was his first lighthouse, and he went on to build another 21 lighthouses over the course of his career. It stands at 17 metres tall, with its lantern rising from a two-storey keeper’s house. Although it was decommissioned as an operational lighthouse in 1922, it has been Grade II listed and is now a hotel and wedding venue.
