Babbacombe model village is renowned for its miniature perfectly landscaped gardens, that leads to one of Europe’s leading model villages and railways. It resides in the area of Babbacombe, in the seaside town of Torquay in the region of Devon.
In 1963 the model village opened its doors for the first time by Tom Dobbins. The village itself lies in 4 acres and has over 400 models including a 300 metre model train track within the village. Though the model village is one fictional town, many of the buildings are based on landmarks and replicas within the UK such as the Shard in London and Stonehenge in Wiltshire.
It also has its own castle and working windmill and many of the shops names in the model village are witty puns, such as A. Kingbody sports centre (Aching body) and Terry Bull Gardening Service (Terrible). Amongst favourites is the mini mansion which holds a rock and pop or superhero festival, take a look and see which celebrities you can spot dancing the night away. Plus to add to the excitement, see whether you can find where Wally and his friends are throughout the garden.
The model village made an appearance on the BBC One programme, ‘The One Show’ in 2014 and was a filming location for BBC Two comedy show, ‘Don’t Forget the Drive’.

Parking on Signature Cars, TQ1
Wonderful parking space for my pride and joy overnight. Received a message from Dudley beforehand showing exactly where my parking space would be. Found the parking space easily right outside the Signature Cars reception, with CCTV coverage.

Parking on Thurlow Rd, TQ1
Good area to park in as close to the beach, i would recommend this space as it was very easy to find but was not peak season so was quite empty. Had to download the app to pay for parking as had no change, so for convenience best thing is to have change to pay with at the machine.

Parking on Thurlow Rd, TQ1
Good location for Plainmoor stadium. Only issue was the car parked in the space next to it was parked half way into the space I booked. This meant I had to park half way into space number 4. I didn’t know if that space was going to be used.
