Lucy Cavendish is named for the famed campaigner of women’s educational reform, and the College only admits women over the age of 21 to its under- and postgraduate programmes. It was founded in 1965 in order to create more opportunities for women to study at Cambridge. It is situated just to the north-west of the city, close to St Edmunds and Fitzwilliam Colleges.
