Audi launches plug-in hybrid Q3 models

The Q3 45 TFSI e and Q3 Sportback 45 TFSI e plug-in hybrids will be available in 2021

Audi has added to its already wide-reaching plug-in hybrid line-up with the addition of the Q3 45 TFSI e. The new PHEV is offered in both conventional SUV Q3 and coupe-SUV Q3 Sportback guises.

Featuring a range of up to 31 miles on a charge and a 245 hp powertrain, the Q3 45 TFSI e uses a 1.4 TFSI petrol engine and 85 kW electric motor. The new Audi PHEV will complete the 0-62mph sprint in 7.3 seconds and top out at 130mph.

Electric elements see a 13 kWh battery fitted for the official electric-only range of more than 30 miles, and charging can be carried out at 3.6 kW for a charge time of 3h 45m.

Trim levels have been confirmed for the UK, with buyers able to choose between Technik, S Line, Black Edition, and Vorsprung specifications. Pricing has not yet been set however.

Both the Q3 45 TFSI e and Q3 Sportback 45 TFSI e are available to order from spring next year, and will become the eighth PHEV offered by Audi.
