New flagship for the French manufacturer, with a crossover estate and a focus on comfort

Citroen has showcased its new C5 X, a flagship model set to compete in the large car market which combines styling features from the coupe, crossover, and estate sectors.

Available with petrol or plug-in hybrid powertrains, the C5 X will feature an electric-only range of up to 31 miles with the latter. It will also offer 225 hp, and electric driving at ups to 84mph

As a flagship model, the C5 X features a high level of equipment and tech, including a 12-inch high-definition touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charging, over-the-air updates, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, and extended head-up display.

There’s 545 litres of load space in the boot, and the cabin is made light by a large amount of glass used throughout, termed a ‘360-degree glasshouse’. Citroen’s Advanced Comfort active suspension should guarantee a comfortable ride as well.

The new Citroen C5 X will go on sale from late 2021.
