MG now offers a longer-range vrsion of its MG5 EV estate, with a larger capacity battery extending the WLTP distance to 250 miles on a charge.

Offered alongside the existing model - with a range of 214 miles - sees the plug-in estate top the charts in terms of range per price of any EV on sale in the UK.

A new 61.1 kWh battery explains the range increase, and the MG will charge to 80% in an hour from a 50 kW DC rapid charge point, or 40 minutes from a 100 kW DC unit. A 100% charge on an AC unit will take around nine and a half hours.

Power remains the same at 115 kW (156 hp), with 260 Nm of torque and a 0-60mph time of 7.3 seconds. As with all MG products, the MG5 EV comes with a 7 year/80,000 mile warranty.

It also features MG Pilot, the company's suite of driver assistance systems, including lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, and active emergency brake.
