PHEV power for performance Skoda Octavia

Skoda Octavia vRS iV sees a plug-in hybrid added to the performance range for the first time

Skoda has revealed prices and specifications for its latest plug-in model - the Octavia vRS iV. The performance model gets an electrified powertrain for the first time, with a combined power output of 245hp and 400Nm of torque.
Performance figures see the 0-62mph sprint covered in 7.3 seconds, and a top speed of 139mph possible. That’s down to a 1.4 litre TSI petrol engine working with an 85 kW electric motor.
Despite the performance focus, the Skoda Octavia vRS iV can still cover up to 39 miles on a charge, and return economy scores as good as 256.8mpg & 26g/km CO2 for the hatchback variant, or 235.4mpg & 27g/km CO2 for the estate.
Driving modes allow those behind the wheel to select hybrid, electric only, or battery hold/charge. Charging the 13kWh battery will take 3.5 hours from a 3.6kW unit, or five hours from a three-pin socket.
Prices start at £35,020 for the Skoda Octavia vRS iV hatch, or £36,220 for the estate. Both can be ordered from Tuesday 3rd November.
