Stirling Castle, situated in the vibrant city of Stirling in Central Scotland. Both architecturally and historically, it is one of the biggest and highly vital castles in the whole of Scotland. The striking castle lies upon Castle Hill, a plutonic rock crag which shapes a portion of the Stirling Sill geological formation.
A Number Of Scottish Kings and Queens were crowned at Stirling Castle, this included Mary, Queen of Scots, in 1542.
The sheer cliffs that encompass the castle, provided it with excellent protection. The majority of the primary buildings of the castle date as far back as the 15th and 16th century, a handful from the 14th and the outer fortifications around the 18th century. Since it was established, there have been around eight attempts to siege Stirling Castle, the last being an attempt by Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1746.
Now, Stirling Castle is a UK Scheduled Ancient Monument and a very popular tourist attraction, open all year round. It was visited by over 605,000 people in 2018. The castle is run by Historic Environment Scotland. The castle esplanade has been used countless times for open-air concerts. Also, the likes of R.E.M, Bob Dylan and Rod Stewart have filmed concert DVDs there.

Easy to find, very central and not expensive. Just need to go into reception and put your reg number into the system and your ready to go. We found a space easy enough which I would have expected when it was prebooked.Kenny
Yes very helpful people. Excellent location. Easy to find. And great courtyard bistro! We will use again. Slightly worried if had booked and no space available on arrival as saw many driving around….
Easy booking process online.I booked for just under two days for ten pounds plenty of places available. All you have to do is pop in the hotel and show your booking and they enter it into the system.Park felt secureSimon
Very straight forward, instructions on obtaining an electronic parking permit up in the hotel reception. Followed those, spoke to the gentleman covering the reception too who was nice and chatty. Parking space was perfect and the location was ideal. Highly recommended and would use again.Fiona
Easy to find. Car park decent size. Girl In hotel very helpful and nice. Would use again. Only slight problem was some other inconsiderate drivers taking up more than one space which could cause problems if busy. Maybe an idea to paint bays. All in all very goodKris
Very easy to find and easy to come and go as we pleased once there. Enough spaces available.Watt
Car park is in a good location, right in the centre of the old town. Easy to find and easy to park. You need to go in to the hotel so you can enter your car reg in to their machine that registers it with the company who run the car park. The first lady at reception didn't seem to know about Your Parking Space but her colleague did and just asked us to enter the dates and regulation in to an ipad to register us. Other than that it was very straightforward and simple. Would use again.Jackie
Easy to book. Very good location and excellent value for money.Ian
