Hastings is a seaside town, found in East Sussex on the South Coast of England. It is most renowned for the Battle of Hastings which took place at Senlac Hill in 1066. Before becoming known as a medieval Cinque port and then later in the 19th century was a popular seaside resort. Hastings is currently a fishing port and has the largest based fishing fleet in the UK.
Along Hastings seafront are an array of diverse boutique and high street brand shops, restaurants and cafes and a range of accommodation. It stretches three miles from the fishing fleet and the Old Town in the east to the pier, arcades and funfair rides along to Grosvenor Gardens.
The beach is a combination of shingles, pebbles and sand, with precise zones of the beach colourfully mapped out in order for children to identify safe areas, perfect for families, other areas are specifically for dog walkers and other parts for water sports.
It is a perfect place to spend the day sunning yourself, whilst your children play safely in the sea, followed by a stroll along the seafront. Stopping off for some fish and chips or a coffee and a cake in one of the many eateries that span the seafront.
