Greenhous Meadow, now known as Montgomery Waters Meadow and previously called the New Meadow, was built to replace the New Meadow stadium in 2007. It is the home to Shrewsbury Town FC, sometimes nicknamed Salop, a word taken from the Latin inscription on Shrewsbury’s county banner, Loreat Salopia, which means let Salop flourish. The name Salop comes from the Norman name for Shrewsbury, which was Salopesberia.
The closest train station to the ground is Shrewsbury and is just over two miles from the stadium, taking rounghly 40 minutes to walk to the ground.
