Extended and expanded in 2007, Poole Museum showcases the maritime history of Poole and is one of the South West’s most popular heritage attractions. Its historic harbourfront buildings include Oakley’s Mill, a Victorian grain warehouse and flour mill once occupied by a medieval inn; the Town Cellars, medieval warehouses now used as exhibition halls; and Scaplen’s Court, a medieval courtyard inn which dates back to the 1300s. The Museum also provides research materials for scholars interested in local history.
