The Kelburn Castle and Estate is about 5 minutes’ drive from the centre of Larg, and is known for its uniquely painted exterior. They’re open daily from 10am to 5pm, with a café which is open from 11am to 4pm on weekdays, and 11am to 5pm on weekends. Entry to the grounds is free, and the Secret Forest has an entry fee of just £3 per person. Here, there are a number of trails and walks to explore, plus space to go camping. There’s also a horse riding centre, and outdoor play areas for children.
