Parking in Walsall
Rent a Walsall Parking Space
Walsall is an industrial market town in the West Midlands. The Industrial Revolution changed it from a village of 2,000 people to a town of over 86,000 in around 200 years. The town manufactured everything from saddles, chains and buckles to plated ware, and the nearby limestone quarries also brought prosperity to the area. The town is so closely connected with its industrial history that its football team is known as the Saddlers.
Nowadays, Walsall is an interesting little town with lots going on, including two museums. Walsall Museum features local history objects, mostly from the manufacturing trades, and it also has a space for temporary exhibitions. Walsall Leather Museum, meanwhile, displays a mixture of leather goods and has recreations of leather workshops. There is also a section dedicated to showcasing the work of designers using leather today.
Visitors to the town also love to visit the Walsall Arboretum, The Light Cinema, and the New Art Gallery Walsall, which houses works by Jacob Epstein, Van Gogh, Monet, Turner, Renoir and Constable, as well as an exciting programme of temporary exhibitions.

Parking in Central Walsall
Parking in Walsall city centre can be especially challenging because of the parking restrictions in place in the most sought-after areas. Motorists are not allowed to park in the pedestrian zone, and there are several central roads that have limited access for deliveries only, and others that are reserved for bus, taxi and access only. There are also some spaces that are reserved for Walsall parking permit holders.
Walsall parking charges and restrictions vary from street to street, so make sure you check the signs before you park.
Free parking in Walsall was almost eliminated by the Walsall Council when they introduced on-street parking charges in the town in 2011 in response to parking bays being filled by the same cars all day. Since then, many of Walsall’s most in-demand streets, including Hatherton Street, Station Street and Lichfield Street, have parking charges, and motorists have to buy a ticket from a Pay and Display machine or risk a pricey Walsall parking fine.
There’s no need to risk that dreaded parking fine dropping through your letterbox. YourParkingSpace only offers parking spaces that you are entitled to park in so you can park without stress, leaving you free to enjoy your trip. Whether you’re just popping to the shops or you’re looking for all day parking in Walsall, YourParkingSpace can help.
