The Bristol Old Vic theatre has been prevalent since 1766. It is a British theatre company which stages superlative performances and products and the theatre is a common and widespread and extensive attraction for both visitors and tourists from all over. They are based at the Theatre Royal in Bristol.
The Theatre Royal is the oldest frequently functioning theatre within the English speaking world and was constructed in 1764 and 1766 which resides on King Street and was joined with Coopers Hall which was built between 1743 to 1744. The building is grade one listed and was called “the most beautiful theatre in all of England,” by decorated actor Sir Daniel Day-Lewis.
The theatre complex in 2012 underwent a £19 million renovation to expand the seating capacity and in order to offer 10 adaptable spaces for performances. Alongside the main auditorium the complex also has a studio theatre, side stage, paint shop and basement performance areas. When it reopened its doors after the refurbishment the first play on the stage was Wild Oats by John O’Keefe
