The Theatre Royal is Norwich’s biggest theatre, with a capacity of over 1,300. Although the current building dates from 1935, the theatre itself was founded in 1758. It can be found in the centre of Norwich, which up until the Industrial Revolution was England’s biggest city after London. Norwich has a rich cultural heritage – it was designated England’s first UNESCO City of Literature in 2012.
