Vicarage Road is the home of Watford FC, who have played at the stadium since 1922. The club are often nicknamed The Hornets and were originally founded in 1881. Their most successful season was arguably in 1984 when they compete in the UEFA Cup and the FA Cup Final. Sir Elton John is one of the club’s Honorary Life Presidents.
Watford High Street is the nearest train station to Vicarage Road and is roughly a 20-minute walk. However, the ground also has its own Underground station on the Metropolitan Line and is less than a mile from Vicarage Road. There is no official Watford FC car park, though there are some car parks in the area, It is generally easier and cheaper to book your parking space in advance of arrival at the ground.
Located a short walk from the ground, The Odd Fellow is a popular pub with away fans that serves food. The town centre is also just a short walk from Vicarage Lane and there are a great variety of pubs, bars, and restaurants within walking distance of the ground.
